The Board of Managers of The Ministers and Missionaries Benefit Board of The American Baptist Churches (MMBB) is currently conducting a search for the next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the organization.
The CEO is a pivotal role responsible for directing the work of MMBB, administering its benefit plans and services, managing its assets, and providing leadership to their Board of Managers on policies and strategies to fulfill MMBB’s mission. The new CEO will inherit an organization with a 100-year heritage, a strong board and management team, and a solid financial position. This executive will lead the ongoing evolution of the organization, capitalizing on opportunities in an increasingly competitive pension and benefits landscape and will be an active member of the American Baptist Church.
The CEO's responsibilities include developing and implementing a vision and strategy, providing exemplary leadership, overseeing an effective benefits organization, and ensuring the strong financial health of MMBB. The ideal candidate should have a broad executive management background in financial services and/or benefits, experience leading highly effective service businesses, expertise in managing a complex organization, and a proven track record of achieving organizational goals while maintaining financial accountability. Additionally, the CEO should possess personal characteristics such as an understanding and appreciation of a faith-based, not-for-profit organization, a drive for excellence, the ability to lead and represent the organization effectively, and the ability to inspire others to perform at a higher level.
