Louis P. Barbarin, CPA, joined MMBB’s staff as assistant treasurer and has since served as treasurer, CFO, and deputy executive director before assuming the role of chief executive officer.
Prior to joining MMBB, Louis served as the deputy executive director and treasurer of the American Baptist Board of Education and Publication. Other professional experiences include serving as controller and acting vice president of finance at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania and the accounting firm of KPMG. Louis holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, a Master’s in Finance from The Pennsylvania State University, and has completed the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program. He also received an honorary doctoral degree from the Berkeley School of Theology. Louis is licensed as a certified public accountant in the states of New York and Pennsylvania.
Louis currently serves as chair of The Interchurch Center Board. He also serves on the Board, Executive and Finance Committees of Eastern University and has recently joined the Board of the Curtis Institute of Music. Prior volunteer experiences include serving on the boards of the Kendal Corporation, Habitat for Humanity of Chester County, The American Baptist Foundation, ABCON Credit Union, and Trinity Press International. Louis is a member of St. Paul's Baptist Church in West Chester, PA where he served in the music ministry for more than 20 years.
