Rev. Dr. David Hinson is an MMBB Retirement Benefits Consultant for Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. David brings thirty years of experience to his ministry, serving church workers in multiple states.
Prior to joining MMBB, he led several churches in Georgia and Kentucky before concluding his final twelve-year tenure of pastoral service at the 500-member First Baptist Church in Frankfort (KY). His ministry always had a strong missions component. David guided his church to provide health care to the uninsured and underinsured, in part by founding the Mission Frankfort Clinic in 2002. The Clinic now provides free medical, dental and pharmaceutical services to the community with more than 1000 patients annually. Similarly, David remains intentional about building new bridges between ministry and business to assist non-profits and church employees to build resources toward a more secure retirement.
Serving as a Retirement Benefits Consultant with MMBB since 2010, David continues to utilize his past experiences to assist churches in building a financially sound future for ministers and their families. His additional studies have led him to certifications as a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®) and as a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®).
David earned his Doctor of Ministry and Master of Divinity degrees from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, and his Bachelor of Arts in History and Christianity from Mercer University. In December 2019, the Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary in Paynesville City, Liberia, awarded him with the honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree for “Having Devoted his Life in Service to the Christian Gospel in enduring ways that have contributed to our Hope for the Kingdom.”
In his spare time, he enjoys going to auctions, playing golf, refinishing antique furniture and being active with his family.
