It’s hard to believe that the end of summer is near. Many of us are taking advantage of the remaining warm weather to enjoy the outdoors before the summer break ends in September.
Some people use the waning days of summer to complete outdoor improvement projects before the chilly weather comes. With that in mind, our July/August issue of the Tomorrow newsletter offers insight on employing contractors in “The Do’s and Don’ts of Hiring a Contractor.”
This summer marked the launch of MMBB’s refreshed Member Portal, which provides MMBB members with new features for managing their MMBB accounts. Learn more about this upgrade in “What’s New on the MMBB Member Portal.”
As you prepare for autumn, you may be taking a fresh look at your budget. Our article “The 411 on Zero-Based Budgeting and the 50-30-20 Rule” compares two ways to track and manage your expenses. In “Financial Fact: Financial Terms You Should Know, Part 1,” we discuss four financial terms and why they are important. Finally, our article, “Are You Keeping Things in Storage? It Will Cost You,” uncovers how paying to keep belongings in storage may be more expensive than you think.
As we look to September, reflect on this scripture: "But blessed is the man who trusts me, God, the woman who sticks with God. They’re like trees replanted in Eden, putting down roots near the rivers—never a worry through the hottest of summers, never dropping a leaf, serene and calm through droughts, bearing fresh fruit every season.” -- Jeremiah 17:8 (MSG). If we trust God and place our lives in God’s hands, our faith is a balm against fear. When life’s difficulties arise, we need not be afraid because we have hope that God will give us strength and deliver us from our trials. Let us be like a tree that does not fear when the heat comes because it knows God will water its roots.
Enjoy the upcoming Labor Day weekend.
In Christ,
Louis
