As many of us continue to light our Advent candles, we anticipate the anniversary of Jesus’ birth on Christmas and begin the new liturgical year. We also bid farewell to the 2024 calendar year and prepare to welcome 2025. With that in mind, this issue of Tomorrow includes articles on various topics that will help you plan for the new year.
First, we summarize how MMBB calculated the 2025 Annuity Payout for our retired members in “Understanding the 2025 Annuity Payout.” The article “How to Keep Your New Year’s Financial Resolutions” offers tips for achieving your 2025 financial goals. In “The Basics of Budgeting,” we delve into how to make a budget as you start off the new year.
With balance transfers on credit cards and the use of QR codes becoming more prevalent, it’s essential to know how to use them wisely. In “Is a Balance Transfer Right for You?” we share factors to consider before deciding whether to shift your debt from one credit card to another. Finally, “Financial Fact: Beware of QR Code Scams” examines how to tell if a QR code is legitimate or clickbait to a con job.
During this holy holiday season, I leave you with the words of the Apostle Paul from Philippians 4:7: “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (NIV) This verse reminds us of the inner tranquility Christians can experience during Advent. Amidst the hustle and bustle of Christmas preparations, we’re invited to seek and embrace God's peace, grounding our celebrations in the profound joy and assurance of our Savior’s coming birth. In addition, we can find solace in knowing that God's peace sustains us in every season, even amidst life's uncertainties and challenges.
On behalf of the staff at MMBB, I wish you and your family a peaceful and joyous Christmas and a blessed New Year. We look forward to continuing to serve you in 2025.
In Christ,
Louis
